Everyone from Toronto seems to love it there,
and I think I'm beginning to see why.
I'm particularly enamoured with Kensington market, and if you've been, you'll know what I mean. I visited the market on a friend's suggestion, and when you enter, you are immediately welcomed by the sights and sounds of a colourful tapestry of people with heartfelt enthusiasm.
Just walking through the market made me feel so alive and aware of how creative, talented, and expressive people are! The graffiti covering building sides were masterpieces filled with bright colours that, at times, made not-so-subtle commentary on political beliefs. Street performers showcased a wide variety of talents: a musician with giant cello, puppets singing improv songs, a magician who defied gravity, literary artists writing poetry/prose on demand... the list goes on! So many exciting things were squeezed into those streets; you couldn't help but feel energized.

There were also so many stores that catered to alternative diets - especially vegan! I was thrilled, and went a little crazy with my photos. There were just so many businesses that I wanted to promote! Below are the 3 that I visited (and loved!) :
Bunner's Bake Shop
Hibiscus
This place caught my eye with their wood-based store design and because their big seller seemed to be their vegan ice-cream, given it was written across their patio barrier in large letters.
The ice cream that my friend and I got was Lemon Mint - I was hesitant at first, but it was creamy and cooling and we had no problem finishing it off! ;)

In addition to the great food, there was also great dancing! Multiple styles of music and dance could be found throughout the streets and all of the groups were extremely welcoming to any confident strangers who would step forward and show off a few moves.
There were also so many beautiful spray painted walls around the market that offered exciting back drops for an impromptu photo shoot. While I didn't jump in to any dance circles or snag the perfect 'gram, I did manage to capture a few fun moments!
