For the past month I've focused on a wholesome diet, and I spent the past hour writing a blog post about the benefits I've gained and the realizations I've made. Then, with an accidental swipe of my finger on the laptop trackpad, I lost it all. Maybe that's the Universe's way of saying that those musings were only for me.
...or maybe it was trying to tell me that no one wanted to read the post.
So I won't try to re-create what I had written before. Instead, I'll leave a short but simple message:
Food is such an integral part of our social events and (by extension) our relationships. My interest with trying a more wholesome diet stemmed from my desire to better myself from the inside out. But over the month, I was reminded that this was achieved through more than just diet. It requires self care, which is not about striving to achieve a superfood diet and IronMan athleticism, as I often think it to be. Self care about caring. Some times, that means taking the evening to eat ice cream with friends. Other times, it means going to your 6:30 fitness class despite being in the middle of a Netflix marathon.
And looking at the weather, I'm going to cut this short and go for a walk - something I know I'll appreciate having done later. :)
